Today’s textiles are blends of materials, from synthetics to natural materials. When clothing is sent to a recycler, the consumer might assume their item will be repurposed, however without knowing what a shirt or pair of socks is made of, the textile recycler is at a loss. This gap is where Brian Iezzi, founder of Fibarcode, sees opportunity. Teknovation interviewed Coulomb Technology's Tim Vosberg, a Cohort 2024 fellow. The company is pioneering the development of revolutionary battery cells aimed at transforming the energy storage, backup power, and e-mobility sectors. 

Megan O'Connor, chief executive officer of Nth Cycle and a Cohort 2018 fellow, was named to Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders in Business. Sarah Jordan, founder of Skuld and a Cohort 2023 fellow, received the WinSupply Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence from the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.

EarthEn, a Cohort 2023 company, has been awarded a $400,000 grant through DOE's HPC4EI program, supported by the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management. This funding will accelerate the development of their cutting-edge compressor-as-a-turbine technology.
