Oak Ridge has a wide variety of healthcare options for its populace.
Methodist Medical Center
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge offers patients the highest level of quality care, technology and service that you’d expect to find in a nationally leading hospital. That’s because Methodist is a leading hospital but offers patients the convenience of a hometown medical center that is close to the support of family and friends.
With 180 physicians in 33 specialties, Methodist has the expertise, experience and scope of service to meet your needs. A 301-bed regional medical center, Methodist is one of the first hospitals in East Tennessee to offer cutting-edge treatments and technologies that benefit people with life-threatening aneurysms; severely damaged knee, hip and shoulder joints; sudden heart failure; and non-healing wounds. Methodist Medical Center first opened as an Army hospital in 1943 when Oak Ridge was still America’s “Secret City.” Now 75 years later, the hospital is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and provides more than 30 medical specialties ranging from cardiology and orthopedics to oncology and wound care.
Methodist Medical Center is a member of Covenant Health, the region’s top performing healthcare network. Community-owned and headquartered in Knoxville, Covenant Health includes nine acute-care hospitals, numerous outpatient and physician clinic locations, and specialty services for behavioral health, oncology, rehabilitation, home care, and community wellness and outreach programs. With more than 10,000 employees and nearly 1,500 affiliated physicians system wide, Covenant Health is recognized regionally and nationally for quality and patient satisfaction. One of America’s Best Employers – Three Years in a Row Covenant Health is the only health system in East Tennessee on Becker’s list of “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” in 2018 and has been named three years in a row by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers.
