I’m pleased to invite you to the 2025 ORNL Innovation Awards reception and luncheon, where we will celebrate a year of achievements in technology transfer.

The reception and the luncheon form our signature annual event and bring together awardees and special guests to recognize the exceptional accomplishments that advance the mission and impact of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The ORNL Innovation Awards recognize individuals who:
- Developed a technology that was licensed to industry
- Received a granted U.S. patent or a registered copyright
- Received an R&D 100 or Federal Laboratory Consortium award
- Achieved the honor of National Academy of Inventors Fellow or Battelle Distinguished Inventor
Please join us from 5:00 PM to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, for a reception in the South Lobby of the National Institute for Computational Sciences, Building 5100 on the ORNL main campus. There will be a panel discussion on innovation and resources for commercialization, as well as a recognition of the R&D 100 Award winners.

In addition, please join us from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025, for a luncheon at the ORNL Conference Center, Building 5200, in the upstairs Tennessee Rooms. Dress is business casual.
We will recognize recipients of the Federal Laboratory Consortium and DOE’s Technology Transfer Working Group (TTWG) awards, as well as those who have licensed a technology this year or been granted a U.S. patent or copyright.
Mason Booth, Vice President of Program Management of Type One Energy, will deliver the keynote address at the luncheon.
